Frequently Asked Questions about Therapy & Coaching

Practical details about sessions, fees, insurance, and getting started

What states do you offer therapy in, and can we work together if I live elsewhere?

I provide virtual therapy for adults (18+) physically located in Tennessee, New York, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, and Vermont. State licensure laws require you to be in one of these states at the time of our session.

Do you offer in-person therapy in Nashville, or is it completely virtual?

Weave the Path Psychotherapy is primarily virtual, using a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. For clients local to Nashville, I offer in-person therapy sessions at The Healing Society (217 W Maplewood Ln, Suite 220). Once we get to know each other and establish a rhythm, we can also explore outdoor walk-and-talk sessions in the Nashville area so we can get outside and move.

How long are therapy sessions?

Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Down the road, we also have the option to schedule 90-minute intensives if you want more time for deeper processing without feeling rushed.

What are your session fees, and do you offer sliding scale options?

My standard fee is $200 per 50-minute session across all states. I reserve a limited number of reduced-fee slots for those experiencing financial hardship. If you are in a position to pay the full rate, doing so directly sustains my ability to offer these lower-cost slots to others in our community.

Do you accept health insurance for therapy?

I chose to remain out-of-network to protect your privacy and your care. My background as a Chief Clinical Officer taught me that insurance corporations often prioritize profit over people, requiring invasive diagnoses and micromanaged treatment limits. I believe your healing should be guided by your actual goals, not an insurance company's bottom line. To make therapy financially sustainable, I partner with a service called Thrizer to help you use your out-of-network benefits seamlessly without the usual administrative headaches.

How do out-of-network (OON) insurance benefits work?

Out-of-network benefits allow you to submit an itemized receipt (called a superbill) to your insurance provider for partial reimbursement. I generate and send this to you automatically each month. Depending on your plan, this can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket costs. I highly recommend calling your insurance provider directly to verify your out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage.

What is Thrizer and how does it help with therapy costs?

Thrizer is a secure platform that handles the entire out-of-network claim process for you, so you don't have to deal with paperwork or wait months for a check. Once you meet your out-of-network deductible, Thrizer allows you to pay only your co-insurance responsibility at the time of our session. For many clients, this means you don't have to pay the full fee upfront, resulting in an average of 70% immediate savings per session.

What is a Good Faith Estimate and the No Surprises Act?

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive an upfront estimate of expected charges before scheduling if you are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance. You can request a Good Faith Estimate at any point. By law, if you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your official estimate, you have the right to dispute the charges.
